Thursday July 2 - Kick-Off the July 4th Weekend with Twin Modified 50-Lappers! at OCFS
We are now just a week away from the first big special format event at OCFS, a twin 50-lap feature on Thursday, July 2nd, also featuring the Rapid Tire USAC East Coast Sprint Cars. With an enhanced $5,000 to win each 50-lap feature, some of dirt racing's finest will be there looking to claim victory, confirmed among them already is Stewart Friesen, NASCAR Gander Outdoor Truck Series driver.
This special format event will not count track points and results will not effect weekly handicapping. Teams will draw for heat lineups, redraw feature lineup top 15 or 16 and draw for invert after first feature; between 10 and 15. Each feature is $5000 to win with a $5000 bonus for sweeping both.
To accommodate even more fans while grandstands remain closed and social distancing rules remain in effect, OCFS has added a second Drive-In viewing section to the 5/8 mile track's infield. The infield was once home to the competitors at OCFS, serving as their pit area, but due to social distancing guidelines can no longer host the amount of people associated with race teams and the large haulers that bring them in. An infield without haulers has meant spectacular views from the backstretch Drive-In, and so to carefully not impede that view, spectator vehicles will now be welcomed in the infield to watch the race as they would from the drive-in!
Regular drive-In tickets can still be purchased at the fan entry gate on the day of events (while infield spots must be reserved via a "Ticket Request Form" on the OCFS website). We are no longer selling by the spot, tickets will now be sold individually with no restrictions on number of occupants per car. Gates open to fans at 4pm.
Of course for our fans all across the country, livestreaming will be available to purchase for $20 here on the OCFS website. All qualifying events and features will be streamed in beautiful HD with all the best camera angles and commentary from your favorite, the legendary OCFS track announcer, Tim Pitts. Please consider joining us if you won't be attending in the drive-in!
