Sunday’s Eastern States Live Stream

This year, OCFS brought live streaming to Eastern States Weekend. Though the experience overall was a success, we would like to address a technical issue that occurred on Sunday’s portion of the event.

Spectrum served as the internet service provider for our stream over the Easter States Weekend. Uploading a live HD video stream requires more than a standard home internet connection and so a dedicated line was installed at the track for the event. This line was separate from guest wifi in the stands and the internet used for operations such as ticket sales and timing equipment. For the entirety of Friday’s free stream and Saturday’s stream, the internet connection maintained its speed and we were able to upload flawlessly. On Sunday Spectrum reported through our network vendor that they ran an unscheduled and unannounced equipment update to counter a threat to their network. Our service became disrupted. As a result, some users at home may have experienced buffering, stoppages or a need to refresh the page. The team at OCFS worked to troubleshoot and restore service with Spectrum throughout the day

Because of the disruption in coverage, OCFS is offering refunds for Sunday’s $12.99 Live Stream. The cut-off for refund requests will be Wednesday, December 5th 2018

Include your first and last name and the email address you used to purchase the stream. You will be notified via email that your request has been received. Refunds can take up to 17 days to process.

Anyone who purchased Sunday’s stream will also be given free access to our uncut, rebroadcast of the event on a date TBA.

Our thanks goes out to all the fans who purchased the live stream, this was our first experience with internet live streaming and we feel this was a great start. We have big plans for streaming at our track as we celebrate our 100th anniversary next year. In 2019, expect to see more races throughout the season, interviews, panels, classic footage and more. All of this exclusive content will live on our website and will be accessible through a subscription. Hope to see you next year!
