RACING CONTINUES AT ORANGE COUNTY FAIR SPEEDWAY JUNE 13 AND 20

DIRTcar Big-Block Modifieds Headline the Program Both Dates

Due to ongoing COVID-19 restrictions, the Orange Crush Spring Smashtacular originally scheduled for Saturday, June 13 will not be held. Instead, the second week of high-powered stock car racing will echo through the historic Middletown, New York fairgrounds. Headlining the three-division program will be the United Rentals Big-Block DIRTcar Modifieds. They will be joined by the Small-Block Modifieds and the always exciting Street Stocks. A series of qualifying races will set the fields for each division's feature race.

The following week, on Saturday, June 20, racing will continue again with the Big-Block Modifieds; this time joined by the Sportsman division. On both nights, competitors will be racing for one of the largest purses of any weekly race track in the country.

With several other regional speedways not yet open, fans can expect to see many outside competitors on hand to try their racing skills on the big Orange County five-eighths-mile clay speedway.

Because of COVID-19 restrictions, the grandstands remain closed, but Orange County Drive-In section will be open by pre-arranged reservations at $99.00 per vehicle spot including up to four occupants. Starting this week, rows B and C of the drive-in will be available to vehicles with 2 or less occupants for a rate of $49.00.

For fans attending in the Drive-In: With the exception of emergency vehicles and maintenance equipment, the infield will be empty, allowing an unobstructed view of the track. Race car haulers will be parked/elsewhere on the grounds. Announcements and race calls can be heard over car radios at FM 107.7. The refreshment stands and restrooms will be open.

Fans unable to garner a reservation, or not wishing to attend in person, may order live multi-camera streaming of the races on the OCFS website for $24.99.

Competitors are also required to pre-register. Transponders and one-way radios are mandatory. Fire suppression equipment is required for all open wheel divisions (Big-Block Modified, Small Block Modified, Sportsman, and Rookie Sportsman) and strongly recommended for Street Stocks.

So that there are no misunderstandings, both competitors and fans are urged to read the detailed instructions posted on the OCFS website for following the protocols and restrictions required for allowing the speedway to host racing. Everyone's cooperation will be the best assurance of allowing racing to continue for the balance of the season.

On race days, June 13 and 20, the competitor Gate 9 will open at 2:00 pm; the Drive-In will open at 4:00 pm;
cars will be on the track at 6:00 pm. Pre-approved media members only will enter at Gate 1, the employee
entrance.
