Points Racing Resumes without Fans at OCFS on 7/25
A three-division racing card is on tap this coming Saturday, July 25 at Orange County Fair Speedway in Middletown, New York. Topping the program will be the 467-cubic inch United Rentals DIRTcar Big-Block Modifieds competing in a series of qualifying races setting the field for their 30-lap feature race.
A bit less earth-pounding will be the Orange County Sportsman, also racing in qualifying heats setting their field for their unpredictable 20-lap feature race.
Rounding out the program will be Orange County’s only full-fender racing division, the Street Stocks, set to go in a 15-lap feature race.
Currently, by state imposed mandate, spectators are not allowed at any New York State race track. But live streaming for $20 is available of the entire night of racing. Fans are urged to check the Orange County Fair Speedway website---www.orangecountyfairspeedway.net---to order live streaming and for the latest track news concerning spectator status.
Competitors are required to pre-register. Pit passes will not be sold at the sign-in gate. Transponders and one-way radios are mandatory. Fire suppression equipment is required for all open wheel divisions (Big-Block Modified, Small-Block Modified, and Sportsman, and strongly recommended for Street Stocks.
So that there are no misunderstandings, all attendees are urged to read the detailed instructions posted on the OCFS website for following the protocols and restrictions required for allowing the speedway to host racing. Facial coverings are mandatory when moving about the fairgrounds. Everyone’s cooperation will be the best assurance of allowing racing to continue for the balance of the season.
On July 25, the competitor Gate 9 will open at 3:00 pm; cars will be on the track at 6:00 pm. Pre-approved media members only will enter at Gate 1, the employee entrance.
