2019’S HARD CLAY MAGAZINE TO DISTRIBUTE FOR FREE
HARD CLAY Racing Magazine To Feature Seven Major Event Special Editions Including Collectors’ Item 100th Anniversary Volume; Twelve Regular Season Weekly Issues To Be Distributed Free Of Charge
MIDDLETOWN, NY – Race teams and race fans at Orange County Fair Speedway in Middletown, NY can expect ‘new and improved’ HARD CLAY Racing Magazines from Program Dynamics, Inc. (PDI) long time producers and distributors of the highly regarded seasonal weekly. “The 2019 season schedule at Orange County is packed with major events, races that demand major league program quality,” said Steve Barrick, who with wife Pam, founded PDI in the winter of 1974-1975. “We are looking forward to measuring up.”
The most significant event on the speedway’s 2019 schedule, the three day August 15-17 100th Anniversary Extravaganza, will be commemorated with a three day event program of the same magnitude as the only other race track in the history of the sport to have celebrated 100 years of auto racing, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Six other special event programs are planned. They include the April 7 Hard Clay Open, the April 13 Regular Season Opener, the July 13 All Star Sprint Series event, the July 18 Super DIRT Series race, the September 7 Champions Night, and the climatic October 25-27 Eastern States Weekend. Each will carry enhanced content.
As part of its initiative for the 2019 season, PDI, in conjunction with Orange County Fair Speedway, will offer HARD CLAY Racing Magazine free to patrons at 12 ‘regular season’ events in May, June, July and August. “With so many exciting things happening at Orange County this year, Chris Larsen wanted to get the word out to as many people as possible and this is the perfect way we can work together toward that end,” Barrick said.
HARD CLAY was first published at OCFS by PDI at the beginning of the 1975 season. The weekly publication continued through the 1982 Eastern States 200, then was displaced by a DIRT organization piece through the end of the 2006 regular season.
PDI returned to produce the 2006 Eastern States Weekend program under the HARD CLAY banner, then resumed, after a 24-year exodus, weekly program publishing at OCFS beginning in 2007.
All told, PDI has published and distributed over 500 editions of HARD CLAY between its two tenures at OCFS. “Every edition has been a labor of love,” PDI’s Barrick said. “This is a tremendous race track with a history and a racing heritage that is second to none. We intend to capture the uniqueness of Orange County Fair Speedway by celebrating each race in HARD CLAY Racing Magazine’s pages.”
