HARD CLAY CHALLENGE NEWS RELEASES

FANS ALSO “HARD CLAY CHALLENGE” WINNERS AUGUST 5 AT ORANGE COUNTY FAIR SPEEDWAY

MIDDLETOWN, NY (July 23)……..While the winning driver of the Thursday, August 5 “Hard Clay Challenge” 358 Modified race at Orange County Fair Speedway in Middletown, New York will earn $10,000, several lucky fans will also go home with significant prizes. Six fans will win Gift Certificates from the Mario Andretti Racing School for the Riding Experience package in the unique two-seat Indy-type race car. In conjunction with Anthony Ferraiuolo & Sons and Program Dynamics, Inc., two more fans will win Orange County Fair Speedway Eastern States Weekend tickets. And at least a couple of the youngsters attending the evening’s race meet will become proud owners of new bicycles.

“All of our sponsors have been vary generous,” say race organizer Michael “Suitcase” Sanchelli. “I think this proves that there’s still a great amount of support for Orange County Fair Speedway. And that support is not just from Middletown, but the entire four-state region.”

When the small-block 358 Modified race cars hit the Hard Clay speedway on Thursday evening, the one-division format will include time trials, qualifying heats and consolation races, and an all-green-flag 40-lap feature paying---in addition to the $10,000 top prize---a minimum of $400 to start the event. Guaranteed starting spots for several fall season championship races at other speedways also will be awarded.

The Hard Clay Challenge is open to any home-track legal small-block (358 cid) Modified. Cars may run on either gasoline or alcohol, but must be equipped with a single four-barrel carburetor. Any 13x92 American Racer tire will be permitted and the minimum car weight is 2,400 pounds. Sail panel body styles will not be permitted.

Information for the “Hard Clay Challenge” can be found at the Orange County Fair Speedway website, www.orangecountyfairspeedway.net, or from the Track Office. For discounted advance tickets, call 845-342-2573 Tuesday through Friday during business hours.
