2009 RULE UPDATES
ALL OPEN WHEEL CLASSES WILL BE RUNNING THE SAME OCFS AMERICAN RACER TIRE
ORANGE COUNTY FAIR SPEEDWAY 358 MODIFIED RULE AMENDMENTS
SAME RULES APPLY AS IN 2008 WITH THE FOLLOWING EXCEPTIONS:
1. Unported - Brodix Heads, any single plane intake ported, any header, any wet sump oil pan - 2400 lbs
2. Ported – Steel Head Motors - 2500 lbs
3. Any American Manufactured Production Carburetor legal on either ported or unported. Limited to one 4 Barrel using Holley Components.
4. NO Rev Limiter Box Required
5. When running with Modifieds – Must weigh 2400 lbs.
6. Any 358 small block (short block in length) running with the Big Block Modifieds may only have a minmum engine displacement as specified and abide by all 358 Modified engine rules. Any Big C.I. Small Blocks will be allowed to run as a Modified ONLY.
ORANGE COUNTY FAIR SPEEDWAY SPORTSMAN DIVISION
SAME RULES APPLY AS IN 2008 WITH THE FOLLOWING EXCEPTIONS:
1. OPEN MOTORS – STEEL WHEELS – MUST WEIGH 2550 lbs.
2. CRATE MOTORS – MUST WEIGH 2350 ALUMINUM WHEELS (OPTIONAL)
3. NO Rev Limiter Box Required
4. NO MIDGET REAR ENDS
5. OCFS reserves the right to require any overly competitive car in any support class to add 50 to 100 pounds of weight prior to the next weekend for the betterment of racing.
6. There will be no gear rule established at this time.

The following rule implementations will take place immediately at the Orange County fair Speedway. These rules will supersede any previously written rules. It is at the discretion of the Management of Orange County Fair Speedway to modify or change any rule necessary to ensure competitive balance.
Sportsman Division Open Motors.
1. Cam Shaft: No roller cams, roller gear driven cams, roller, mushroom lifters or lash caps are allowed. Camshaft may be of any brand. Only hydraulic or mechanical/solid flat tappet type camshafts permitted. Camshaft and lifters must be solid steel or cast iron construction only. No titanium, ceramic, or other exotic materials permitted. Camshaft must be located I factory position in block. Stock type and size cam bearings only. No roller or needle bearing cam bearings permitted. Lifters and lifter bores are to remain stock in diameter and are to remain in stock location within block. Sleeving of the lifter bores to compensate for wear is permitted. Must utilize stock type timing chain and gears only. No gear drives, belt drives or devices with external camshaft timing provisions are allowed. Roller rocker arms of any ratio are permitted. No shaft type rocker assemblies are permitted except on engines that came from the factory with shaft type rocker assemblies. Stud girdles are permitted. Aftermarket “rev-kits are prohibited.
2. Intake Manifold: Must be a stock passenger car, cast iron 2 barrel intake manifold only. No porting, polishing, welding, gasket matching or acid dipping is allowed. An optional aluminum four barrel as cast box stock, spec manifold may be used. No work of any kind may be done on this optional manifold. The manufacturer is Brodix part # HV1011 for Chevrolet, Edelbrock part number 2814, 2913, 2915 and 2926 for Chrysler 340 heads, Edelbrock part number 2920 for Chrysler W-2 head, and Edelbrock part number 2981 for the Ford 351 Windsor.
3. Carburetor: The Holley carburetor, part # 4412 is the only acceptable carburetor and may run a maximum spacer adapter of 1 1/16 inch including gaskets, measured from the top mounting surface of the intake manifold to the bottom of the carburetor base plate. The adapter that turns the carburetor sideways is considered to be a spacer and will be measured as such. No modifications of any kind will be allowed to these carburetors except those listed below. (box stock only). No fuel logs or fuel cooling devices are permitted. Only one (1) stock type mechanical fuel pump located in stock location on engine is permitted, utilizing a mechanical throttle linkage only. Double return springs are required. Conventional round type air cleaners only. Air cleaners that provide ventilation through the top cover (such as K&N brand) are permitted. No air induction plastic carburetor inserts or other devices to direct air into intake. No air diffusers are allowed. Carburetor modifications allowed are listed below. ANY OTHER MODIFICATIONS NOT MENTIONED WILL NOT BE ALLOWED.
Allowable Modifications to carburetor.
a. Holes drilled in throttle plates for proper idling.
b. Drilling, tapping and plugging of unused vacuum ports.
c. Welding of throttle shaft to linkage arm.
d. Milling of center carburetor body metering block surface a maximum of .015 inches on each side.
e. Removal of choke plate and shaft.
f. The jets may be changed as needed.
ORANGE COUNTY FAIR SPEEDWAY PRO STOCK DIVISION
1. OPEN MOTOR cars must weigh 3150
2. CRATE MOTOR cars must weigh 2850
3. Rev Limiter OPTIONAL
ORANGE COUNTY FAIR SPEEDWAY PURE STOCK DIVISION
1. Any OEM Type Aluminum Radiator will be allowed
2. Same Tire Rule as 2008 season, however, American Racer Tires can also be run.
3. Rule #9 Amendment - Fenders and Rear Wheel Wells may be cut or trimmed away for tire clearance ONLY
4. Rule #10 Amendment - 1" Lug nuts are mandatory with studs extending beyond the nut on all 4 wheels
